money no enough 2,a great local movie(i absolutely love local movies),
once again casting the spotlight on the common local man’s life while poking fun at our uniquely Singaporean mentality and government policies.
At the same time,
the movie hits home on common predicaments of families
and addressing eroding virtues among singaporeans.
Jack Neo, mark lee and the short guy are cast as brothers,
each with varying income levels, supposedly representing different income groups in Singapore
and portraying the varied mentalities and attitudes towards money
and how each manages their wealth.
they all share a common trait; the belief that money is never enough.
also,
the show sends us a strong reminder to check our bearings on the moral compass.
As we know, true colours surface in crisis,
A strong underlying message that money is not everything,
that ones true wealth is having the company of his loved ones.
something that i felt was true for once,
a perfectly contrasting rebuttal to the government’s ceaseless push for economic advancement singapore (inflation)
yes, there are 'strikes' on erp charges in this movie,
but are we even allowed to go on strike?
oh yes,we have to be licensed and do it indoors they say.
this movie shows how unconditional a mother's love is.
from the 2k 'loan' to her children who were in need,
the forgiving ways of her when she was chucked to sleep outside the loo of their homes,
to the time she decided to end her life,
to give her granddaughter a chance to live.
It brought out the much needed prescription of laughter
and perhaps some uncontrollable rolls of tears.
i give this movie a whopping
